The lions have a large and well developed muscles. Their body is elongated and squat on thick muscular legs. They can take down prey up to several times their own size. Their jaw is powerful to be able to rip the thick skin of prey (such as wildebeest), and to stay hooked on prey that seek to bring down the predator's back.
